Lavish Opening Reception Friday, February 10, 2012

Impressions is an annual juried art competition with fine food, fine wines and fine friends amid the Old Florida Charm of Bonnet House. All of the art work selected for the competition is for sale and 50% of the proceeds benefit Bonnet House. A juror selects first, second and third prize winners and the artist with the highest number of votes by attendees receives the People’s Choice Award. The Impressions exhibit will be on display at Bonnet House Friday, February 11 through Sunday, April 8, 2012. The exhibit will be on display in the Carl Weinhardt Gallery during regular tour hours.

Our Impressions Lavish Opening Cocktail Reception is scheduled for Friday, February 10, 2012 at 6pm with catering and design by 360° Catering.  This year’s juror is Matt Carone, Mr. Carone has been a fixture on the South Florida art scene for over 40 years. During his time as a gallery owner he built a roster that included such artists as Wolf Kahn, Leon Kroll, Wifredo Lam, and, of course, the great Chilean surrealist Roberto Matta. Mr. Carone has participated in many successful exhibitions, both in Florida and across the United States, and has been the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in the visual arts. His work has been enthusiastically received by many notable art critics and writers and he has been recognized by his peers as a notable force in the contemporary Florida art scene.

Awards for this juried art exhibit are as follows: 1st Prize-$500;   2nd Prize-$300;   3rd Prize-$200;   People’s Choice Award-$100; and 5-Honorable Mentions.
