Bonnet House Museum & Gardens’ “Viva Florida 500 Best in Show Series”

Bonnet House museum & Gardens’ “Viva Florida 500 Best in Show Series”, continues at Gallery 928 with its second opening reception featuring Bonnet House Fine Artists, Marilyn Johansen, Flor Lecht, Debi Liptak, Louis Mezian, Debbie Rubin and Tricia Rutsis.

The Viva Florida 500 Best in Show Series is a celebration of Ponce de Leon discovering La Florida, and the works selected for this series are inspired by 500 years of Florida history which include abstract as well as realistic interpretations.

This exhibition will include works of various media including, watercolor, oil, photography and collage.  A percentage of all art sale proceeds will benefit Bonnet House programs.  The series includes a total of four exhibitions running from June 20 through November 3.  All exhibitions include wine and cheese reception from 6-8pm with raffle and are free and open to the public.  Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece at each show. All receptions will begin at 6:00pm on the first night of each exhibition with announcement of Best in Show from the previous exhibition.

The series schedule is as follows:

Third Exhibition: Thursday, August 29 – Wednesday, September 29

Fourth Exhibition: Thursday, October 3 – Wednesday, November 3

52 Artists Selected for Impressions: A Juried Art Exhibit 2013

Fifty-two artists from around the world will flock to historic Bonnet House Museum & Gardens on Thursday, March 7th to participate in the 13th Annual Impressions: A Juried Art Exhibit and Fundraiser benefiting the historic estate. Impressions is a well-respected, annual exhibition of artistic talent, reflecting the world’s architectural, natural and cultural themes.

The fifty-two artists chosen to participate in the exhibition hail from all over the world and work in a wide variety of media and styles. One of the inspirations for Impressions artists was Bonnet House and its surrounding lush landscape.  Many of the artists were able to work on the grounds of Bonnet House, and visitors to Bonnet House had the opportunity to see these artists at work.

Daina Stabulniece, chair of painting and drawing for the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, will be this year’s juror. This is Ms. Stabulniece’s first stint as juror for the exhibit. Kathleen Lowe, Vice President of Marketing and Development for Best Roofing and Scott LaMont Principal of EDSA are co-chairing this year’s Impressions opening.

Impressions: A Juried Art Exhibit is set to open with a private showing for V.I.P. guests starting at 5:00pm.  V.I.P. guests will be treated to champagne and hors d’oeuvres, preview the exhibition, and partake in a rare viewing of the exclusive private living quarters of Evelyn and Frederic Bartlett, Bonnet House’s former owners.  The reception opens to members of the public at 6:00 p.m.

Admission for the opening of Impressions is $200 for VIPs at 5:00 p.m. and $150 for general admission at 6:00 p.m.  Attendance is by reservation only by visiting us online at https://bonnethouse.org/impressions/ or by calling (954) 703-2614. LXR Luxury Resorts and Ryder Systems, Inc. present Bonnet House Museum & Gardens’ 12th Annual Juried Art Exhibit and Fundraiser Friday, February 10, 2012 at 6:00p.m.  “Impressions: A Juried Art Exhibit” is set to open with a private showing for V.I.P. guests starting at 5:30pm.  V.I.P. guests will be treated to champagne and hors d’oeuvres, preview the exhibition, and partake in a rare viewing of the exclusive private living quarters of Evelyn and Frederic Bartlett, Bonnet House’s former owners.  The reception opens to members of the public at 6:00 p.m. Lois Schmatz and Kirk Imhof are co-chairing this year’s Impressions opening and Matt Carone will be this year’s juror.

The juried art exhibit showcases artists from throughout the nation and the artists’ personal interpretations of this country’s architecture, nature, or culture.  All guests and participating artists are invited to cast votes for their favorite artist in the exhibition.  The artist receiving the highest number of votes will receive the People’s Choice Award, awarded that evening.  All of the artwork in the Impressions competition will be available for sale with 50% of the proceeds benefiting Bonnet House Museum & Gardens.  The Impressions exhibition will be on display from February 10 through April 8, 2012 during Bonnet House regular tour hours.

Additional highlights of the evening will include fine food, fine wine and live entertainment throughout the house presented by 360˚ Catering. Invitations for Impressions will be mailed in January. LXR Luxury Resorts and Bonnet House Museum & Gardens announce the opening date of “Impressions of Florida,” the annual juried art exhibition and fundraiser to benefit the public programs of Bonnet House. The opening date is Friday, February 11, 2011 and the exhibition is set to open with a private showing for V.I.P. guests at 5:00pm. V.I.P. guests will be treated to champagne and hors d’oeuvres, preview the exhibition, and partake in a rare viewing of the exclusive private living quarters of Evelyn and Frederic Bartlett, Bonnet House’s former owners. The reception opens to members of the public at 6:00 p.m. Lois Schmatz, Pat Smith and Dev Motwani are co-chairing this year’s Impressions of Florida opening.

The juried art exhibit, presented by LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, showcases artists from throughout the state and the artists’ personal interpretations of “Florida.” All guests and participating artists are invited to cast votes for their favorite artist in the exhibition.
