AMERICA 250
Bonnet House invites visitors to explore the people and stories that helped shape Fort Lauderdale Beach through a special America 250 exhibition in the Studio. The exhibition highlights the pioneering contributions of Hugh Taylor Birch and artists Frederic and Evelyn Bartlett, whose vision, creativity, and stewardship helped preserve the natural beauty and cultural character of the barrier island long before Fort Lauderdale became the city we know today. As our nation begins commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, this exhibit offers an opportunity to reflect on the unique local history that helped define America’s development along Florida’s southeastern coast. While Fort Lauderdale may not have Bunker Hill, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, we still have a unique story to tell that furthered the American experiment.
Location: The Studio
On view through: November 22, 2026
