Bonnet House offers a beautiful and unique setting for corporate affairs and cocktail receptions. Beginning with the first impression at the main entrance, your guests will experience a night to remember.  Become inspired by the innovative architecture, rich history, original artwork, and lush gardens.  Experience the beauty and history of our facilities that combine the grandeur of the past with amenities of today.  In compliment to the natural vegetation, the grounds contain a Desert Garden composed of arid plantings, a hibiscus garden, and the main courtyard planted with tropical vegetation.  Bonnet House is a unique space for events, with open areas appropriate for any meeting.

Located in the center of Fort Lauderdale, Bonnet House is a culturally and historically rich venue with modern amenities and a private parking lot, making it a choice destination to accommodate any event.  Bonnet House limits the number of private events. Dates are reserved based on availability when accompanied by your rental deposit.

The Bonnet House Museum & Gardens 2013/2014 season is highlighted with a variety of exciting programs and events. We will be offering art classes in the Bonnet House gardens with Karen Eskesen and Nia Nakis, calligraphy and zentangle workshops with Tony Patucci and Shawn Hayden as well as our annual Concerts Under the Stars series from January through April and the 7th Annual Orchid, Garden & Gourmet Food Festival the first weekend in December.

Zentangle with Shawn Ann Hayden, Three-week sessions: January 14 – 28, February 11 – 25 or March 4 – 18, 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join Certified Zentangle specialist, Shawn Ann Hayden in the historic Bonnet House Island Theater.  Workshop includes basic principles of Zentangle, a way of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns.  To register call the Bonnet House Education Department at 954-703-2606. New ImageConcerts Under the Stars, January 23, February 13, March 13 & April 10, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The finest young talent in South Florida will be performing at Bonnet House’s Young Artist Music Series this winter. Concerts under the stars on the beautiful Bonnet House estate include wine, dessert and coffee in the ticket price. The evening’s activities take place in and around the house with the concert taking place on the veranda lawn beneath the moon and stars. Bonnet House and Gallery 928 present Viva Florida 500 Best in Show Series

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens in collaboration with Gallery 928 present “Viva Florida 500 Best in Show Series”, a series of exhibitions featuring works from our very own Bonnet House Fine Artists.

Viva Florida 500 is the BestinShowfrontfor webcelebration of Ponce de Leon discovering La Florida, and the works selected   for this series are inspired by 500 years of Florida history which include abstract as well as realistic interpretations.

The exhibitions will include works of various media including, watercolor, oil, acrylic and photography and a percentage of all art sale proceeds will benefit Bonnet House programs. Only two exhibitions remain  with opening receptions scheduled for August 29 and October 3. Opening receptions include wine & cheese from 6-8pm with raffle and are free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece at each show.  Best in Show winner will be announced at each reception.

Young Artist Music Series kicks off January 24

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens kicks off its 17th season of the Young Artist Music on Thursday, January 24th at 7pm with a performance by the Lynn University Piano Trio. We are delighted to offer the Fort Lauderdale community what we consider to be the ‘best deal in town’. Wine, dessert and coffee are served to our guests and included in the price.

The season continues on February 21st with Florida Atlantic University performing a piano concert. On March 21st we have University of Miami’s Frost Opera Theater and for our fourth and final performance on April 11th we have Florida Grand Opera’s rising stars.

Individual tickets range from $35 – $45 per performance and series tickets from $120 – $160, everyone can enjoy an evening under the stars like no other Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale graphic design honors class designs our posters each year with this year’s winner being Steven Frias.

What started as community outreach has become one of our most treasured programs. We are looking forward to this very special 17th anniversary series.

Orchid, Garden & Gourmet Food Festival at Bonnet House

Bonnet House Blooms December 1st & 2nd

Orchid, Garden and Gourmet Food Festival

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens will be blooming during its Orchid, Garden and Gourmet Food Festival featuring the 6th Annual Orchid and Exotic Plant Sale December 1st and 2nd from 9:30am to 4:30pm! With free parking and a $10 entry fee for members and $12 fee for non-members- plant lovers and orchid enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see and buy an exclusive selection of orchids and exotic plants.

In addition to the unique collection of exotic orchids and plants sold by over 30 local vendors, the two-day event will feature gourmet food trucks, libations, orchid care lectures, cooking and gardening demonstrations, a silent auction display, live music, a farmer’s market and a creative kids corner.

The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, December 1st and 2nd from 9:30am to 4:30pm.  The entry fee is $10 for members and $12 for non-members for the fair and grounds and an additional fee of $8 for the self-guided tour through the house. Green Market – Herbs, organic fruit and vegetables and helpful tips on gardening will be available.

Self-guided Tours of the House and Grounds – Stroll through the grounds and house at your leisure and experience the charm and beauty of the Bonnet House estate.

Rest Areas – Where you can sit and relax in the shade.
The Bonnet House Gift Shop – Near the main house, offers a unique choice of snacks and bottled juices, as well as a variety of interesting books, jewelry and array of gift items.
Lots of Free parking – The entrance to the parking lot is on N. Birch Road off of Sunrise Blvd. between A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Final Family Fun Day of the Summer at the Historic Bonnet House Museum & Gardens

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is giving all families their last chance to travel back in time for a fraction of the cost. ½ price admission for adults and free admission for children 12 and under. This final Family Fun Day of the summer scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 10am – 4pm will include several kid- and family-oriented archaeology activities for visitors by the Florida Public Archaeology Network. Families will also have the opportunity to tour the historic house museum filled with an enchanting collection of art and personal treasures from the Bartlett family. This ticket also gives families the opportunity to explore the nature trails filled with native plants, trees and an occasional monkey or swan all at a special rate. The last chance to take advantage of the Family Day discounted rates will be on September 15 from 10am – 4pm with the last tour starting at 3:30pm. This day is designed to give everyone in the family a fun opportunity to explore, and learn together, so do not miss out!

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is offering a day of fun for the entire family this summer with ½ price admission for adults and free admission for children 12 and under.  Families will have the opportunity to tour the historic house museum filled with a delightful collection of art and personal treasures from the Bartlett family as well as explore the nature trails filled with native plants, trees and an occasional monkey or swan all at a discounted rate. The Family Fun Days are scheduled for the first and third Saturday of each month July through September 2012 from 10am – 4pm with the last tour starting at 3:30pm. The specific dates are July 7 & 21, August 4 & 18 and September 1 & 15.

Enjoy a Day of Music and Song during Bonnet House’s Family Fun Day

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens will be hosting a special celebration on April 21st from 10am – 4pm. Enjoy “Family Day at Bonnet House”, featuring the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra. The program will be an Introduction to the Orchestral String Instruments and a Pre-School Sing Along. This program is intended for children 5 years of age or younger and their parents. There will be 2 separate performances, the first one will start at 11am and the second repeat performance will start at 12 noon each lasting approximately 30-35 minutes.
