Self Guided Tours Now Available In Spanish & German

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is located i n sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Our location in the center of a thriving metropolis i n South Florida puts us i n a unique position to cater to a variety of different guests that come to us from all over the world. It i s an honor to share the unique history of our estate, and the artistic legacy of the Bartlett & Birch families to people from all corners of the globe.

In an effort to ensure that all our guests can have the same opportunities to l earn about our historic estate, we have started offering self-guided tours in Spanish as well as German. We also plan on launching self guided tours i n Portuguese very soon.

Here at Bonnet House, international tourists can experience the unique charm and historic atmosphere that South Florida has to offer. With our expansive tropical and desert gardens, and our historic Main House, Bonnet House has so much to offer. By providing self guided tours in multiple languages, we aim to become a top destination for international tourists visiting Fort Lauderdale.

Bonnet House offers self guided tours Tuesdays – Fridays from 11:00am to 3:00pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Welcome Center on the day of your visit, or by visiting this webpage. Adult tickets can be purchased for $20.00 per person, and children are $8.00.

Here at Bonnet House we love love! Wedding ceremonies and receptions are among our favorite events that are hosted here at the Bonnet House historic estate.  Our venue is perfect for couples interested in celebrating their love and commitment to each other in a warm, outdoor setting. Spanning 35 acres, Bonnet House offers a variety of exquisite settings, each uniquely beautiful in its own way. Whether you are planning a close, intimate gathering or a grand and lavish affair, Bonnet House sets the scene for romance and timeless memories. With its beautiful tropical and subtropical plants and its proximity to downtown Fort  Lauderdale, Bonnet House has become a favorite destination for couples across the world.

Often referred to as “Fort Lauderdale’s Best Kept Secret,” Bonnet House offers an incredibly unique environment to celebrate your big day. Not only do we have a beautiful historic estate, we also have the ability to host beach front ceremonies. Getting married on the beach is truly a memorable experience for both the happy couple and their guests. Our ocean front estate has everything you will need for your perfect private wedding location.

Our estate offers a variety of services and amenities to help our guests make the most of their special day. The use of photography is permitted two hours before the wedding ceremony begins. Brides also have the ability to use the private upstairs bridal suite, and will have access to a personal bridal assistant. Bonnet House will even provide a ceremony and front door hostess, as well as complimentary tram service for guests to be escorted from the free parking lot to the main house.

Guided House Tour

Enjoy a guided tour of the house with one of our seasoned Bonnet House docents.  Limited to 14 visitors per tour.  Parking is free. Enter through the Main Visitor Parking Lot on 9th Street off Birch Road / West Gate.  Pre-registration is required. Reservations close 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.

Guided tours take place:
Tuesday thru Friday:  10:00 am – 11:30 am and 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Adults:  $25
Age 8-16: $10, not recommended for children 7 and younger.
No discounts apply. All sales are final and non-refundable.

No videos are permitted on Bonnet House guided tours. Guided tour guests must follow the direction of tour guides in taking photographs. Guides may limit time for photographs subject to the needs of Bonnet House and the enjoyment of fellow guests.

Newly added Behind the Scenes Tours

Visitors will participate in a VIP experience at Bonnet House Museum & Gardens beginning Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 2pm. Bonnet House will be offering new Behind the Scenes – Private Living Quarters Tours. Take a sneak peek inside normally-closed areas of Evelyn and Frederic Bartlett’s private living quarters. Tours are led by our seasoned Bonnet House docents and will be offered the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 2pm – 3pm for only $20 per person. Visitors will enjoy rooms not seen on our other tours.

The tour is offered in groups of 10 to allow for questions and discussion. Limited reservations available, pre-registration required. Please note, the ability to climb stairs is necessary to fully participate in the tour.  A video presentation at ground level will accommodate those guests unable to climb stairs.

New Orchid Greenhouse Tours Begin October 8

Beginning October 8, 2013, Bonnet House will be offering special Orchid Greenhouse Tours with Orchid Curator Tom Wells.  These tours have never been offered before, the greenhouses and display house are rarely open to the public. The tours will be offered the second Tuesday of each month from 11am – 12pm for only $20 per person. Our greenhouses and display house hold approximately 1,200 plants in various stages of development. Our Bonnet House Orchid Curator will show you around our greenhouses and discuss how our orchids are bred and cultivated (including our impressive seedling program).  A treat for orchid enthusiasts and novices! Orchid seedlings will be available for purchase.
